I'm surprised this does not have more negative reviews. I'm surprised people are allowed to keep this on the store.I really tried not to judge this game and finish all routes but I couldn't. (Some of my run-time is from literally having to walk away from the computer). I finished Morris, Theodore, Oscar, Jeremy, and part of Joshua's route. I did not play Laurence's route until just now and... ok his is amazing. His route is the only one that is worth playing at all. It ends rather abruptly, but it tells the entire story and has the best character development and story progression WITHOUT THE R*PE.For the rest of it though...THIS IS NOT A BL or "BOYS LOVE" GAME. THIS IS STRAIGHT UP BOYS R*PE GAMEThe description says "dubious consent/non-consensual sex" .... There is nothing dubious about it. You blackmail and emotionally manipulate them to bend or break them, you physically beat some of them, you pound into some until they cry out for you to stop and beg you to stop.... and you don't. You relish their cries and laugh at them. And that is in the good routes! This. Is. Messed. UpConstructive criticism: Don't make the main character a deranged, aggressive, psychopathic, r*pist. Seriously though, his reasons for his hatred are NOT able to justify how he acts in any way, shape, or form. He has little character development, and enough time to actually talk through his problems with the past is never given. Romantic relationships are not built. I would say they don't exist in this honestly. (Except for Laurence) He can be evil, manipulative, and full of revenge plans FINE. But to add all of the non-con stuff in there and to even try to twist some of them into consensual relationships is sick. The r*pe them until they like it or because they secretly like it mindset is terrifying.. First and foremost: Do not get this game if you are not okay with non-consensual. Apparently the r-word gets censored.The story is fascinating. Each route gives you just a little more of the story and what's going on. I finished all routes.(play that special episode. It had me dying of laughter)Hot tip: If your achievements won't load - let it run through the credits. He is so terrible and cruel, but you also see where he's coming from, even if you don't agree at all with his actions.I have a massive crush on Joshua. That doesn't help you, you say? Sorry... but it's trueDrawbacks:I feel the "romance" endings (the two I've gotten) don't go far enough... I want to know what happens after they decide to get together. Does Alex abandon the plans? Does he make peace? Does he just leave? I want to know the aftermath. Joshua's route is the only one where you get a good idea of what all happens next, but the rest are just BAM - done...The sex scenes can get a little repetitive and become a little tedious at times (and as I mentioned - most are non-consensual. Do not come here for healthy relationships save for one route...).The voice acting comes in and out and it can get jarring when you're reading in quiet for so long and then sudden voices!I overall recommend the game if you got a kink for this sort of thing, but also lovely artwork, good voices, and a very compelling story...But for serious...... Theodore's route... wtf????. I don't write reviews often so I'm kinda of a newbie, but this needed one!I bought this game earlier today and all I have done is complete Jeremy's endings but I had to say something otherwise I'll find a reason not to, this game is incredible! The writing is smart, the characters are all enjoyable in their own way except for one certain, hateful ♥♥♥♥♥ (I think it was a shame that Edward didn't have his own ending but I'm sure if I play more then it'll become more evident why) and Alex Wake himself is one hell of a lead!I have to give special kudos here to the music composer and the singer, the music composed is always top knotch in my opinion and there was such a variety, I would occassionally stop playing the game just to listen to it, I noticed you can buy the soundtrack so I think I will when I get my next paycheck. Also the singer has such a voice and range that I actually saved before Jeremys good end just to listen to that ending song a few more times.Like I have said, I have only done Jeremy's route -at first I was worried cosidering this game does have sex in it but then read that the game doesn't include sexual depiction of minors (or women) so I was curious how this could play out and played this route first- and at first I was wondering if Jeremy would change Alex's mind and heart away from revenge since he reminds him of his sister which is something I picked up before the reveal but considering the game and time it is set I shouldn't have been so optimistic, and those endings! That bad ending felt like an arrow to my chest. Honestly, I was waiting for that gun to come back into play and when it did I admit to smiling like a madwoman, not from happiness though, I think I just became Alex for a second there haha But seriously, I had to reload immediately after the credits and choose to grab Jeremys hand instead.I will admit, I had to turn off a few of the voices since I had my own image of how they spoke but there was more voices that I kept on from how pleasant they sounded and how they just became the character. The art in this game is beautiful, especially the garden CG, that was especially sweet~ I also enjoyed interactive mode, it felt like it had added to the story in my mind, you could have just as easily written these in but having such a small new mode was interesting and felt,well, interactive~I likely have more to say but I literally have just finished getting both endings for Jeremy and am feeling a little high on the image of Jeremy holding onto Alex's arm, I don't even know how to describe that relationship except maybe an uncle and a nephew but even putting it in those plain terms doesn't feel too right.I love revenge stories so this was bread and butter, if you like them too then I do recommend buying this~Also, Studio Pieplus, thank you for making this game, it was an experience that I can't wait to continue with the other characters~ And if there's an Eddy DLC in the future then I'll buy it That's a half joke~. Normally, every novel is designed to give you about 2-3 hours of playtime, but depending on the decision, you'll end up with something different.But in Beyond Eden, it's totally different!Every path you can choose includes several hours of unique history!You have more than 20 hours of play time before you really know all aspects of the story. There are also 17 different ends!I have to admit that I really loved this game until the last minute. I laughed, was shocked and especially sad when I came to an end after 24 hours of playtime. I hope there will be a second part at some point!It was also very refreshing to play from the point of view of the antagonist.For every BL fan, this game is a must.
